What's in Store for the Alliance of Maryland Podcasts in 2022?

Happy New Year, Podcasters!

I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about a few upcoming news and notes as we head into the new year.

1. The 2022 Maryland Podcast Awards will be coming back this year! If you did not see last year’s awards, click here. The 2022 Awards covers the period of April 1, 2021-March 31, 2022 so your work over the next three months will be considered!
   

2. The nomination period for the awards will be open from April 1st to April 10th. Nominations will be open to all podcasts and video podcasts about Maryland, produced in Maryland, or by Marylanders. The following categories will all be returning this year:

   1. Podcast of the Year

   2. Host of the Year

   3. Best New Podcast (Podcast must have started between April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022)

   4. Best Interview Podcast

   5. Best News Podcast

   6. Best Sports Podcast

   7. Best Entertainment Podcast

   8. Best Lifestyle Podcast

   9. Best Produced Podcast
      

3. A new category this year will be “Best Video Podcast”. Do you have other suggestions for new categories? Email us!
   

4. The voting period will begin April 20th. This year, there will be two sets of voting;

   1. 50% of the voting will be the public vote;

   2. 50% of the voting will be the vote of official members of the Alliance. Not a member? Join today!
      

5. May will be the 5th Annual Maryland Podcast Month!
   

6. We hope to announce the Award Winners at a special in-person Maryland Podcast Event month in May. That, however, depends on the situation with COVID.
